Ana is originally from Ponce, Puerto Rico. She has been residing in Houston, Texas since 1983. Her studies include graphic and interior design, architecture, photography, and art history. Where? Texas A&M University and the University of Houston. Her works are in private collections in Holland, Italy, England, Norway, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, and throughout the United States. Her works are usually small in size and contain the use of several mediums. She considers her works well balanced, mixed media, orderly perceptions, where less is more. Ana’s Big Skies photography series encompasses her opinion that most people do not enjoy, contemplate and explore the immense beauty that God gives us on a daily basis. Ana is a purist in photography. She demands her pieces not be photo-shopped or enhanced in any way. She does use a digital camera, for its practical nature and because of the high speed she needs in the chase of sensitive and crucial light moments.
THE WORLD IS BUT A MEDIUM FOR MY EYES. THEY DISCOVER AND SEARCH WITHOUT REST. THEY SEE ORDER AND DISORDER, BALANCE AND IMBALANCE, PERFECTION AND HUMAN NATURE. IN THE END THERE IS ALWAYS BALANCE. Ana Villaronga
“At the intersection of the celestial, spiritual and artistic, Ana Villaronga has been able to capture the beauty and vastness of the great state of Texas. Knowing how to capture light that constantly appears at the speed of 186 thousand miles per second at the very right instant, and being able to transfer that exact moment into a piece of art that stirs up basic emotions and stimulates the never-ending human need for splendor, is a unique art form that very few master. Ana’s extensive education and impressive experience in the fine arts have allowed her to transfer her skills to this wonderful medium, and has in a surprising short time been able to join a select group of outstanding artistic photographers around the world.”
